Helping Kimball Businesses Thrive
The City of Kimball Economic Development Board has a revolving-loan fund to help local businesses thrive. The Board awards low-interest loans to business owners or operators who present compelling business proposals.
Emphasis is placed on proposals that build local resources, including, but not limited to retail, manufacturing, conduct of research and development, processing, storage, transportation, or sale of goods or commodities which are sold or traded in intra or interstate commerce, sales or services, telecommunication activiives, tourism related activities, construction and rehabilitation of housing pursuant to a Workforce Housing Plan, and FIlm Production. A key goal is to fund proejcts that address the out-migration of young people from the area by providing job that keep them home or bring them back to Kimball. Both new business proposals, plans for expansion of existing businesses, and/or relocating businesses will be considererd.
Loan funds are available for any single project and shall not exceed the amount of funds available under the "Program" during the project term, nor shall it provide more than fifty percent (50%) of applicants total project costs. The loans the city has to offer can vary from ten (10) years for loans used for capital assests and five (5) years for loans involving any other asset category.
